對塵埃之類有鼻敏感的筆者在這幾個月來一直有在用3、4年前在美國訂購的一款名牌叫「Breathe Healthy」的可洗口罩。在農曆年初一時，在美國爆發前再增訂了一小批，所以一直沒有太大的口罩供應問題。剛好在美國爆發大流行前一星期出貨，現在他們家自己也供不應求了。
政府說要派可洗口罩，當然歡迎，納稅人，那是prepaid了的。家人的即棄口罩庫存還可，所以也沒有搶先第一時間登記。所以消息公佈後一整個星期才上網找表格來填填填，除了遙距去問老人家確認個人資料時特別頭痛之外，一切都暢順。
剛收到政府派發（其實結果是要在星期六跑到郵局領件）的「銅芯抗疫口罩+」，比想像中薄，不過單憑物料的厚薄去「決定」阻擋要阻擋的東西關係是不科學的。至少香港政府派的口罩，比日本派的那個綿質的安倍口罩可以覆蓋的口鼻範圍大多了，更比美國政府的……咦，唔駛帶？咁當我冇講過，反正人哋話flu嚟㗎之嘛……
反正也只是作為後備口罩用，到超市買點甚麼的，應該還可以，至少比用來防塵防霧霾的合適。
在防止呼吸道疾病時帶口罩，是為了把自己的飛沫擋住，不是防止吸入別人的飛沫「可以預防傳播呼吸道病毒」。要防止吸入別人的飛沫時要帶的是N95／KN95標準的呼吸器。
一般市民並不建議於社區中使用N95呼吸器，因為正確佩戴或卸除N95呼吸器需接受特別訓練，若使用不當，反而會因為保護不足和污染而增加感染風險
衛生防護中心
銅芯口罩由透明的塑膠袋密封，外加一張A5大小的說明書，兩頁說明中英對照。塑膠袋有Zipper條再封條，所以外出時可以把塑膠袋帶上暫存。
心知說明書早晚會不見，也不想每次都上網找洗口罩的方法，又不想花寶貴的電話儲存來拍照，於是找了OCR的app把銅芯抗疫口罩的說明書拍下，轉成文字記錄。下面是銅芯抗疫口罩+的說明書。
銅芯抗疫口罩+
銅芯抗疫口罩+由六層功能物料構造而成，其中兩層含少量銅並以特別方法製造，可以抑制細菌、常見病毒和其他有害物質；加上多層結構，能有效阻隔飛沫。人體工學設計亦令口罩聚貼面型。口罩在顆粒過濾效率（PFE）細菌過濾效率（BFE）及合成血液穿透阻力（Synthetic Blood Resistance）方面符合美國材料與試驗協會（ASTM）F2100一級標準。口罩可清洗60次，其後只需更換濾芯，口罩便可繼續便用。
口罩由香港紡織及成衣研發中心研發，並獲創新及技基金助，其設計已獲得利2018年更荣獲日瓦國際發明展金獎。
使用方法
- 口罩有條紋一面向外，口罩應覆蓋口鼻和下巴。
- 將掛耳带繞在耳上，使口罩緊貼面部。較彎曲的一邊向上。
清洗方法
- 用肥皂及冷水單獨手洗，在水中輕輕攪動和按壓。
- 用清水沖洗乾淨，平放晾乾
“不要…”
- 清洗時毋須取出過濾層
- 不應使用漂白劑、衣物柔順劑或含螢光劑的洗衣液
- 不要擰乾
- 不可熨燙
注意事項
- 口罩是個人物品切勿與他人交換佩戴
- 如發現罩損壞，或佩戴時呼吸不暢順，應停止使用。
- 一般而言，用過的口罩必須每日清洗一次。弄污或弄濕後應清洗。
- 口罩設計主要用於社區日常生活防護。除佩戴ロ罩，亦應注意個人衛生
- 口罩外層和過濾層有少量金屬成份，對金屬過敏人士應避免直接接觸這兩層。

CuMask+
CuMask+ is made of six layers of functional materials, two of which are specially made with small quantities of copper, capable of immobilising bacteria, common viruses and other harmful substances. Together with the multi-layer structure, the mask serves as an effective barrier to droplets. The ergonomic design of the mask also ensures a secure fit. The mask reaches the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) F2100 Level 1 standard in terms of particle filtration efficiency (PFE), bacterial filtration efficiency (BFE) and resistance to penetration by synthetic blood. The face mask is effective for 60 washes. After that, the mask can continue to be used by replacing the filtration unit.
The mask was developed by The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles Apparel with funding support from the Innovation and Technology Fund. The mask design is patented and was awarded a Gold Medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva 2018.
How to Use
- With the stripe-patterned side facing outward position the mask properly to cover the nose, mouth and chin.
- Place the ear loops properly to keep the mask firmly in place. Put curved edge upward.
How to Wash
- Handwash the mask in cold water individually with soap by gently swirling and kneading
- Gently rinse with clean water. Lay flat to dry.
“Do-nots”
- Do not remove the filtration layer when washing.
- Do not use bleach, softener or detergent with fluorescent agent.
- Do not twist or wring.
- Do not iron.
Points to note
- This mask is a personal item. Do not share it with others.
- Stop using the mask if it is damaged or hinders breathing.
- In general, wash once every day after use. Wash if the mask has become dirty or wet.
- This face mask is designed for general protection. Apart from wearing a face mask, please also maintain good personal hygiene.
- There is a minute quantity of metal in the outer and filtration layers. Persons allergic to metal should avoid direct contact with these two layers.
